Maintenance needs and safety requirements for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are similar to those of conventional vehicles, while all-electric vehicles require less maintenance. Manufacturers are designing these vehicles and publishing guides with maintenance and safety in mind.
With electric vehicles increasing in popularity, many would-be converts are wondering if they drive like cars with internal combustion engine. Will they be too slow, and would they feel strange to handle?
Just as regular internal combustion engine (ICE) cars need oil changes, tune-ups and regular tire rotation — to name just a few things that go into preventative maintenance — electric vehicles also require preventative maintenance to continue running their best.
